Reproductive Rights: Protecting the Freedom to Choose
The problem: Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, reproductive healthcare access in Georgia has narrowed dramatically. Georgia now enforces one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country, banning care as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, before many people know they're pregnant, with real consequences for patients and for doctors trying to provide standard medical care. Whatever any individual legislator's past vote, that law is Georgia's law today, and it hasn't been fixed.
What Sara will do about it:
Fight to protect reproductive freedom and every person's right to make their own healthcare decisions.
Oppose further restrictions on reproductive healthcare access in Georgia.
Support doctors' ability to provide full, medically sound care without fear of criminal liability.
Push back against politicians who insert themselves into decisions that belong between a patient and their doctor.
Why it matters to her: Sara Fuchs has spent six years inside the State House, watching firsthand how healthcare decisions that should belong to patients and doctors instead get decided by politics. As a mother, a community advocate, and someone who believes government has no business in a patient's exam room, Sara is running to make sure Georgians, not politicians, control their own medical decisions.
